South Sac HART - Programs & Initiatives

Outreach & Services

South Sac HART has been extremely giving and helpful to their homeless neighbors. They have organized a number of actions including community BBQs, encampment outreach, and community resource fairs where they have distributed food, survival necessities, hygiene items and COVID-19 protection.

They have also created an extensive resource list for the South Sacramento area that can be found by following this clicking here.

2nd Saturday Respite

Every 2nd Saturday South Sac HART runs a Respite Center at Florid United Methodist Church. Unsheltered neighbors can rest, recharge, and receive hospitality. Breakfast and snacks are served as well as supplies and clothing. Sacramento County Public Health has even set up a clinic to administer COVID-19 vaccinations inside the Respite.

South Sac HART is actively seeking volunteers to help with outreach in the days prior to the Respite date. Folks are needed to drive out with Respite flyers, water, and if available, a snack to remind unhoused neighbors in the area about the Respite and event details.
